Soupy Sales, legendary comedian and actor has passed away -- leaving the world of comedy with one less icon.
Sales made slapstick a staple in the lives of a generation of kids back in the '50s and '60s and perfected the pie-in-the-face gag. Sales achieved infamy when he was forced to do his kids show on New Year's in 1965 and told the viewers to sneak into their parents' rooms and take money from their wallets and mail it to him. When money actually started arriving, he apologized but was suspended, arguably one of the most awesome unintentional pranks ever pulled.
