Did Budweiser's marketing campaign go viral with a pornographic video? In an era when Paris Hilton sex tapes and porn social networks have become the norm, is it any wonder that "this Bud's for you" has taken on a whole new meaning. With over 500,000 views on YouTube, Bud Light and porn have not only partnered up, they've given us a whole heck of a lot to laugh about. And it's more than a little 'tongue & cheek!'

This viral video campaign first aired online in February, 2009. On June 4, Time Magazine wrote a cheeky critique about how Budweiser known for "the beer you choose" saying "a lot about you" might have stepped over the boundaries of decency by portraying their Bud drinkers as 'porno deviants.' While Time indicates that there has been very little pushback from the viewing audience regarding the airing of the commercial, Visible Measures, an video auditing firm which tracks traffic for video campaigns suggests Bud's commercial may have never seen TV air time because of the negative publicity it received online. However, I would venture to say that I don't think any of those half million viewers ever took a "decency" survey after viewing the video on YouTube.

In summation, I think this video is basically just a commentary on today's 21st Century male who likes to accompany his brew with some spicy reading (after all, us guys only read Playboy for the articles, right?) However, when you think about it, shouldn't Bud Light be sold in the PG section of the liquor store, leaving 'X-Rated Vodka' its own space to sell to the XXX rated crowd?
