This to me seems t be a two tier medical system. If you have insurance you see an MD who on the average has 14 years of training. Otherwise you see a nurse practioner, who has 5-6 years of training. I think this person is doing a wonderful thing for the disadvantanged community; however something does nont seem right here. sdinseattle 1:18 PM

Well, I for one am thankful for the N.H.S. (National Health Service) in the UK. Of course there are failings and we complain about it all the time but overall I still prefer this system. As someone in full time work I pay less than £400 national insurance contributions per month. Unemployed people would not be expected to pay this. I pay £7.20 for each item on a prescription. Unemployed people, the elderly and children get free prescriptions. There is no perfect system out there but at least people, even those undergoing financial hardship know they can get treatment, which can be very worrying if someone has a long term or serious illness. France has a different system, which is said to be extremely good. SaafLondon Jun-14

I am very very suspicious whether a socialist health care system will work in America. It will only stimulate the poor mass population to be more aggressive in uncontrolled population growth. We do not talk about finance up and down. This world just has such limited resources. America is not blessed with unlimited resources. Wei_Quing Jun-13
