Digg allows users to submit content, which is then voted up or down by the member community. The more positive votes – or Diggs – a story gets, the higher it moves on Digg.com. Digg Ads will launch as a pilot in a few months, Maser said. The company is still in the "very early stages of working with advertisers and building the system." Maser posted an example of how the ads might display on Digg. They would appear in the story stream, but with a "Sponsored" tag on top. "The goal here is to give advertisers a way to present content related to their brands and get immediate input on whether it's relevant to the Digg audience or not," Maser wrote.
