While erotic Japanese rope bondage is well known inside the kinky scene, it's likely most of us haven't heard of it. Its roots go back 400 years when it was used to restrain and punish war criminals.
The European world only noticed it about 80 years ago,' explains my teacher, Esinem, who has indulged in bondage for years and been teaching professionally for the past five. He explains that in S&M play today, Japanese bondage is a form of erotic communication and, while some like it hard and tough, others like it slow and gentle - pretty much like any sex.
'It's like doing a course on anything that interests you. I could do a cooking course but bondage is far more fun,' says the fluffy-haired guy. 'A cooking course would probably be far more useful,' laughs a young Japanese man, who is now practising on his own leg. Some are here because their partners like being tied up, others like to use it as foreplay.
