ndy Grove put forth the goal last week at the Plug-In 2008 conference in San Jose. Why not convert the existing fleet of big pickup trucks, vans and SUVs to plug-in hybrids? The Hybrid Electric Vehicle Technologies, Inc. (HEVT) team — a start-up out of the Illinois Institute of Technology- has done just that, by shoehorning an electric motor under the F-150’s bed. HEVT hopes to retrofit the existing fleet of F-150s with their innovative bolt-in hybrid system.
