A schoolgirl has landed a job that has made her the envy of all her friends - as an official toy tester. Five-year-old Jessica Rosbrook gets to try out all of the latest must-have toys before they hit the shops, thanks to her appointment by toy firm Tomy. As the toy giant's official tester, Jessica spends hours at ‘work’ playing with the latest games, gadgets and gizmos before rating and reviewing each item.
The schoolgirl from Greenhithe in Kent gets a host of new products delivered to her door throughout the year. And has now built up an enviable collection of toys - most of which she can keep once the testing phase is over.
'At first she just enjoyed getting new things to play with but now she realises what she’s doing and that what she says could impact whether or not a toy actually makes it into the shops. 'She likes the fact that she gets to try things out before other children and that her opinion counts.' Joanne Gray, head of European marketing for Tomy, said the feedback Jessica provided was crucial. She said: 'We think it is vitally important to get consumer feedback on our products throughout the stages of development.
