You wait ages for an original Pinterest campaign to pop up and then two come in the same week. Not long after we covered UNIQLO efforts a few days ago, Israeli advertising agency twentythree has done the same by creating a giant mosaic to celebrate the launch of Smart-Trike’s Pinterest page.
The agency has a track record hacking images and thumbnails – you may remember the agency did a similar campaign on YouTube by creating a giraffe banner – and claim that this is the first Pinterest mosaic board created.
We’re normally skeptical when agencies make claims like this, but considering that we haven’t come across any other examples like this and because it’s a smart use of the platform, we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Like the YouTube banner ad, it’s perhaps unlikely that Pinterest users will stumble upon this organically, but it will certainly generate a lot of buzz online with their effort.
