Ellen Sundh’s ‘Bad Posture’ belt uses a bend sensor and arduino to sense when the user starts to slouch, and then corrects them with verbal cues.

Creative technologist Ellen Sundh has created a belt that informs the user when they’re slouching, offering a simple way to correct posture and helping to avoid health issues that can arise from not sitting up straight. ‘Bad Posture‘ is fitted with a bend sensor, Arduino board, a Wave Shield, and a push button. The sensor detects when the back is arched and when it is straight, and the desired position can be set with the push button to calibrate the belt. If the back bends too much, the Wave Shield lets the user know with a verbal cue so they can correct their posture.
