Wireless and seamless process utilizes QR codes to dispense cash from machines.
Global technology company NCR has developed an app that would essentially allow users to withdraw cash from ATMs by only using their mobile phones. The wireless transaction is enabled through the use of a QR code. Users simply scan the barcode with their smartphone to initiate the transaction.
The seamless process works without the user having to insert their bankcard, or tap anything on the ATM screen. Everything is done through the app, which can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices. NCR hopes that the Mobile Cash Withdrawal system can be rolled out with selected partners later this year.
