A popular property programme has been exposed as fake by former contestants who say they were already homeowners before they took part. House Hunters, a show where prospective buyers view three homes and eventually choose one, has been on the air since 1999. But participant Bobi Jensen claims that producers refused to finalise her as a contestant until she had actually bought one of the houses.
She also said that the houses were shot months apart, and while sometimes they might actually be on the market, in her case they were the homes of her close friends.
Ted Prosser, a former subject of the spin-off House Hunters International also confirmed that he had bought one of the houses before filming began reports Yahoo. Mr Prosser, who searched in the Virgin Islands for his ideal home, said: 'The show is not really a reality show.'
