Band-Aid has created a set of adhesive bandages that feature characters from The Muppets. When the Band-Aids are scanned by an iPhone or an iPad, augmented reality technology brings the images to life, and children can interact with the characters on the screen.
Animations include Kermit the Frog on a swing singing ‘The Rainbow Connection’; Miss Piggy posing for a photos; and Gonzo performing a stunt. Kids can interact with certain characters by tilting the screen or shaking it. It’s certainly a great concept to make children forget about the pain while they’re having fun.
Ad agency JWT came up with the concept while the technology was provided by Qualcomm. The Band-Aids retail for a few dollars for a box of 20.
