Samsung has applied for a patent on a new invention that could be used to monitor major organs such as the heart and the brain. Patent Bolt reports that this implantable medical device (IMD) would be able to communicate a person’s physiological and pathological state information with an external device.
The device could be implanted in the human body to monitor and control organs to function normally. It is also accompanied by an external device that could collect vitals, understand brainwaves, pupil and motion states as well as physiological and pathological states. This information could then be accessed and analyzed by doctors.
The IMD might also include an authenticating unit to make sure the external device trying to communicate with it is authorized to do so, and an alarm generator that sends alerts to the user if someone else attempts to access their data.
