With the economy in such a bad shape these days, charities are increasingly having to come up with more innovative ways of getting people to donate money and this is probably the best example I’ve seen in a long time. It’s a machine that asks you to put two Euros in for a charity but rather than just taking the money, it puts on a spectacular little show including taking a photo of you that gets posted to Facebook.

In effect, it gives you a reward for donating the money and you can see how this would be a winner with people standing around an airport bored, and how kids would beg their parents to donate. Most charities these days are turning to increasingly aggressive ways of collecting money that annoy consumers, but this is the polar opposite and it is really great to see.

As a little added bonus, the QR code can be scanned to see a gallery of photos of all the people who have donated and used the machine.
