A rep for General Mills was forced to issue a statement of apology after a rather rude comic was posted to the home page of an official Honey Nut Cheerios website. The illustration, which was created using the website’s cartoon creator, depicts the cereal’s mascot Buzz the Honey Bee engaging in sexually suggestive behavior, with the word “sex” spelled out underneath. The comic was featured on the homepage as the “Hot Comic of the Week.”

“We have some safeguards that are supposed to keep this from happening, but I guess it wasn’t set up with this game,” the rep told TMZ. “Normally, our games where we allow viewers to spell out things themselves have safeguards that tell children they can’t type stuff like that in. Let’s just say this is no longer going to be the ‘Hot Comic of the Week’ much longer!” In fact, the entire site has been taken down: HoneyDefender.com now directs to the main Cheerios website.
