Whether it's a video tutorial on how to kill a chicken or a look inside a humane slaughterhouse, both meat eaters and vegetarians can benefit from understanding the act of slaughter and what it entails. The Perennial Plate, whose road trip this year has explored everything from urban farming in New Orleans to trapping and killing feral pigs in Texas, have just posted two of their classic Thanksgiving episodes. The first (the episode that turned camera-person Mirra into a vegetarian) shows Daniel killing his first turkey (after a failed hunting mission) and explaining to some school kids what he's going to do to his friend the turkey. The second visits LTD Farm where the farmers ask their customers to participate in slaughter. And finally, there's this year's turkey-less episode in which they fix all the sides—including raw brussels sprouts.
